New Smyrna Beach Mercury Outboard Redfish-Trout Challenge

Prizes and Awards
Catch a legal redfish or trout and you will have a chance to win a Mercury 90-hp two-stroke Classic Saltwater Engine.

Each boat that weighs in a tournament-eligible fish receives an entry into the outboard motor drawing. The fish does not have to appear on the board. (One entry per boat per day. The drawing for the motor will be at Sunday's awards presentation. The tournament entrant must be present to claim the motor prize. The entrant will have two (2) minutes to claim the prize before another slip is drawn. The winner is responsible for all taxes.

Boat Awards: Boat awards are based on the teams that have the most species and total weight. For instance if only one boat has two species, they will be the winner of the top boat awards. If two boats have two species, then the team with the most weight will be the winner, with the other boat assuming the next position. Each boat is allowed to weigh two redfish and two trout per day. General tournament cash awards are based on total number of entries less 10 percent.

Example: 60 boats entered at $75 per boat = $4,500 less 10% = $4,050 total available cash purse.

Mercury Top Boat Awards: Cash awards based on 50% of available cash purse. Example is based on 60 boats at $75 each. Greatest total species and weight accumulated.
1st Place: 45% or $911.25 and a prize package, including a MotorGuide 82-pound thrust, Great White trolling motor and Trojan Battery certificate.
2nd Place: 35% or $708.75 and a Quantum rod and reel package plus Costa Del Mar sunglasses.
3rd Place:  20% or $405 and a Quantum rod and reel package plus Costa Del Mar sunglasses.

Ranger Redfish* Cash awards based on 25% of the available cash purse. Example based on 60 boats at $75 each.
1st Place:  50% or $506.25
2nd Place: 30% or $303.75
3rd Place:  20% or $202.50

Carolina Skiff Trout* Cash awards based on 25% of the available cash purse. Example based on 60 boats at $75 each.
1st Place:  50% or $506.25
2nd Place: 30% or $303.75
3rd Place:  20% or $202.50

*All prize money above is based on 60-boat entry field. If fewer or greater than 60 boats enter, prize money will be adjusted accordingly.

Boston Whaler Lady Angler Award
The woman weighing in the heaviest tournament-legal fish receives an engraved plaque and a Quantum rod and reel package plus Costa Del Mar sunglasses.

Mercury Young Angler Award (age 16 and under)
The young angler weighing in the heaviest tournament-legal fish receives an engraved plaque and a Quantum rod and reel package.

G. Loomis Top Fly Angler Redfish/Trout
Anglers catching the largest redfish and largest trout (separately) on fly will receive a plaque and a prize package provided by Scientific Anglers and G. Loomis.

Optional Tournament Within a Tournament Divisions
Must enter to win! (10% of all optional Tournament Within a Tournament division entries will go toward running the tournament.)

Winnings under the optional Tournament Within a Tournament divisions are awarded in addition to the general tournament winnings. Only entrants officially registered in the general tournament may enter the optional Tournament Within a Tournament divisions, and only the entrant may claim the winnings at the awards presentation. All rules pertaining to the General Tournament shall apply to the optional Tournament Within a Tournament divisions.

Redfish Jackpot - Entry fee is $25 and is optional.
Example based on 60 boats at $25 = $1,500 minus 10% = $1,350 available cash purse. The team that has the highest redfish total weight will win $1,350.

Trout Jackpot - Entry fee is $25 and is optional.
Example based on 60 boats at $25 = $1,500 minus 10% = $1,350 available cash purse. The team that has the highest redfish total weight will win $1,350.
