FishStock Title Sponsors Finalized for 2011 Event
New Smyrna Beach, Fla. — FishStock — one of the largest fishing tournaments and festivals in the nation — announced today the 2011 sponsors for its two signature fishing competitions held on May 26-29, which is located at Riverside Park in New Smyrna Beach. Both Mercury Marine and Yellowfin Yachts have signed on as the Presenting sponsor for both the Redfish-Trout Challenge and the Striker Offshore Tournament, creating a new Co-Presenting status.
The Redfish-Trout Challenge and the Striker Offshore Tournament, are both presented by Mercury Marine and Yellowfin Yachts, which are two of the largest fishing contests in the nation, attracting nearly 800 competitive anglers from throughout the country to compete for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.
"We are thrilled to return to FishStock this year as a presenting sponsor of both tournaments," said Steve Fleming of Mercury Marine. "We look forward to engaging with all the anglers that continuously support this event."
"FishStock is an incredibly successful event, and we are excited to be a part of it in such a large capacity," said Wylie Nagler of Yellowfin Yachts. "This is an amazing opportunity for Yellowfin to show our support and enthusiasm for the sport and its community."
The Striker has been in the community and successful for more than three decades by focusing on the "striking fish" that offshore anglers target most: tuna, wahoo, dolphin and Kingfish.
The novelty of the Challenge, coupled with the growth and enthusiasm for inshore fishing in the Mosquito Lagoon area, has made the Redfish-Trout Challenge one of the most exciting inshore fishing contests around.
Throughout the event, captured redfish will be placed into the Hell's Bay release tank. Sponsored by Hell's Bay Boatworks, the 2,000-gallon release tank, provides 6,000 gallons of raw water per hour identical to the fish's original environment. Because the tank is located on a floating dock, at the end of the day the fish are taken to the shallow-water estuary and allowed to recover fully before being released back into the shallow-water environment.
FishStock is a four-day festival that brings together two of the top saltwater fishing tournaments in the nation, along with all the excitement of the onshore festivities at the FishStock Village. Returning this year will be the FishStock 5k and family fun run which is brought to you in part by Sony Marine, along with KidStock where we will provide 400 rod and reels to kids from 6-16 who register at the event. This years Seminars will be hosted by Rick Murphy, host of the Florida Insider Fishing Report, which will be held Saturday only, May 28th. The ninth annual event will be held at Riverside Park in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., on May 26-29.
