Last Minute Updates for FishStock

Hello to everyone! Just a short note and reminder about this weekend, May 24-27, 2012, FishStock’s Tenth Anniversary.
I trust everyone is getting ready for FS 2012 and look forward to seeing everyone in a day or two. A couple of things to go over prior to FS. The park is still under renovation, and while our North dock will be finished in time for the Anglers weigh in, we will not be able to use the Center dock for KidStock. So I will re-locate the area for the IGFA Junior Anglers, parents and kids to the North end of the Park, close to the Canal, and behind our normal stage area. Fishing from the newly finished railing area only!
Also, for sponsors who have move in to the park for their boats, etc. You will notice orange Cones on Riverside Dr., showing where to enter the park, over the curb. Please use this indicated area only! Be aware of the sprinklers and park shrubbery, it is not meant to be run over. Most will call me and I will walk you in if needed.
Additional reminders for Product and logistics for those attending the event and/or shipping product.

Of Special Note: Whether a sponsor, vendor, staff or official please be aware of some new rules imposed on us from the NSB Parks and Recreation Department. On Thursday May 24th, the Parks ‘Meals on Wheel’s’ program will continue through 2pm. This means that parking on the North side of the Brannon Center (where we normally occupy) will be completely limited to the Elderly and Brannon Center personnel delivering meals to the elderly. This process goes on from 6 am till 2pm Thursday only, and then will clear out for us to occupy accordingly for logistics.

The South side of the Parking lot will be open but will not be for any parking, only for the Sponsor’s product and set up use. Cars and Trucks should park on the street immediately after dropping of the boats, etc. Those sponsors using the South parking lot at the Brannon Center include: Yellowfin, Mercury/BP, and Edgewater and Everglades Boats at this point. These sponsors can start the load in process at 8 am till noon. All other boat companies and local dealers can start bringing their product after 1pm Thursday, May 24th.
Also, the park is going through some renovations right now, and will not be completely finished, so some construction equipment will be on site, and there will be some barricades put up south of the Center Dock, out of our area, but it will hamper the use of the concrete walkway and driveway along the ICW. For those boat companies that shuttle boats we’ll have Orange Cones in the park to enter. You’ll probably want to call me prior so that I can walk you through it all, but it will not hamper the ingress and egress of the event. Just wanted to caution you with the construction.

As a courtesy I would ask everyone who is working and or vending/setting up at the event Thursday to find a parking space early on Riverside Drive by the Park, and or under the South bridge area of the Park then walk into the Brannon Center area. We understand you may be dropping off Boxes etc. but try to coordinate this in advance to avoid traffic snarls. As an official working the event, there will be a lock up room for Registration materials, prizes and awards to drop off to me earlier, just work through Lynda Wilson or myself. I will be looking into over flow parking in the next week, with specific direction for everyone and will follow up with that supplemental information. Please note it will be a hectic ingress with logistics tomorrow Thursday, May 24th and your patience is requested until all is settled later that afternoon. Yellowfin, Mercury/BP, Edgewater and Everglades will have precedence in set up for the South Parking lot.

Park set up for remaining boat companies and vendors can resume at 1pm which I will coordinate individually with each sponsor. Hopefully pre-communication between me and/or your account rep’s can take place to insure a smooth set up.

If you are a visiting sponsor and are in need of accommodations; please contact Toni Roe at Ocean Properties (386)-428-0513 and whose info is on our website, www.fishstock.com , and you can tell them you are a sponsor of FS and they will provide a preferred rate to a condo rental near or on the beach, and within a ten minute drive to the site. If you want to be within walking distance, you can contact Martha at the Night Swan Inn, (386) 423-4940 which is a small B&B literally within a short walk to the site.

If you are shipping product to the office for the event, please send to Bonnier Corp, Attn: Drew Townes, 460 N. Orlando Ave., #200. Winter Park, FL 32789. Please try to get to our offices no later than May 20th.
A short reminder of things you will need to know:

What: FishStock 2012 When: Thursday May 24-27, 2012 (schedule of events attached) Where: Riverside Park in New Smyrna Beach, FL.

Address: 105 Riverside Dr., New Smyrna Beach, FL, 32168

Directions to Riverside Park

From Orlando: I-4 East, to SR 44 East (right). Follow SR 44 East in to NSB. Turn left at Live Oak Street, before the South Causeway bridge (not to be confused with a smaller bridge just before), In 2 blocks (north) take a right at the stop sign, another 2 blocks, you will run into Riverside Park and the Brannon Center.

From Daytona area: 95 South to SR 44 East (right) Follow SR 44 East in to NSB. Turn left at Live Oak Street, before the South Causeway bridge (not to be confused with a smaller bridge just before), In 2 blocks (north) take a right at the stop sign, another 2 blocks, you will run into Riverside Park and the Brannon Center.

Lastly, the 3nd Annual FishStock 5k Fun Run will take place Sunday morning this year at 8am, along Riverside Drive and will end up inside the South Parking Lot next to the Brannon Center. Parking will be completely blocked off on Riverside Dr., in front of Riverside Park and the Brannon Center. As last year, this will complicate the spectator parking further, so those staff, officials, sponsors etc., who will be coming to the park early must be aware that there will be a lack of parking spaces from 5am -10 am on Riverside Dr. The road race brought 500 plus runners to the park last year, and we are expecting those numbers to climb significantly this year. As mentioned previously I will be looking into alternative parking this next week. So look for additional communication soon.

If you have any questions in the interim please let me know. Please forward this note to your dealers, reps or staff who may be working this event.

Thank you for your consideration. We are all looking forward to a dry, non windy and very successful FishStock 2012.
All the best, Drew
