Welcome, not
only does Miami have some of the best fishing in the world, but
also the diversity of our fisheries is unprecedented.
FishStock brings to you an inshore/backwater fishing
tournament that is structured around family fishing and fun.
Families and weekend anglers can compete in this event for money,
trophies and prizes, including the chance to win a new boat, motor
and trailer. Everyone has a chance to win. Only one cash prize will
be awarded to any single participating boat within the Mangrove
Snapper category. Additionally, a separate release Tournament
within a Tournament (TWT) has been created for those wishing to
fish for the more challenging species.
The mangrove snapper was not selected strictly on the basis of its
popularity in sport fishing. To protect the ecosystems, we are
targeting a fish that can be caught away from the fragile grass
flats, since encouraging 125 boats to target fish on fragile grass
flats could result in damage to the shallow estuaries. Mangrove
snapper can be caught in the bay.
We believe the average family has a good chance at catching a
tournament-eligible mangrove snapper from any type of boat. You
might even surprise some of the pros. Show us your stuff, and help
us showcase our fishing to anglers outside the Miami area.
You’ll also be doing your part to protect the
environment.
We know you will enjoy the fishing and FishStock. Make plans
now to be in Miami from Thursday through the weekend and enjoy with
your family free seminars, boat and tackle show, kids activities
and the latest in marine equipment. It will be a great place to
spend some quality time with the family, take in some tunes, enjoy
the food court and bring your friends. Let’s make this
weekend a summer vacation tradition!
I look forward to seeing you there,
Monty Lopez,
Tournament Director
